Quick start to makin art

Have you guys been looking for a way to get into the local scene regarding indy productions?  Well here's a way to get involved quicklike:

Go to the Austin Film Meet that meets every Monday night at different cool locations.  This start-up organization is gathering membership and momentum as a warehouse and distribution center of guidance and help.  Need crew?  Need actors? A score? Shitloads of writers?   These are the people at the meetings on Mondays.  Go and tell 'em who you are and let 'em know what you need (I told 'em "straight up, I need money.").  They can help.  And so can you.  You'll be shocked how easy it is to get on a shoot in some capacity.  Build that net.  Make it work.

Best way to get with the info for meeting locations is to check out their myface.  Next Monday they're doing an actor showcase 7-10 at the Blue Theatre.  I'm going looking for talent, not as talent.  I'm going as a watcher, not a joiner.  Scope out the scope of the dopes and hang in the scene.  Push the river.  Ride the tide.

fun to type

Well, 2010, you sure are easy to type.  That's what makes SXSW my favorite film festival.  You can type their name with one tricky ring finger flick that's sure to please.  With another tricky move I entered my feature into their festival to be meticulously pored over by neophyte acolytes of the cinema lights.  Come on, SXSW!

Here's the logline for Mojo Tango:

"Austin, Texas.  Chilita pees on the stick, Janine follows her heart, Mikey manages a menage-a-trois, and Donny deals with a damsel in distress. Welcome to the MOJO TANGO, a coming of middle age movie."
